BIOGRAPHY

Michael has appeared on Broadway in The Queen of Versailles, the Tony Award winning musical A Gentleman’s Guide To Love and Murder, Wicked, and the First National Tour of Anastasia.

On screen, he was last seen in Universal Pictures’ blockbuster hit film adaptation of Wicked, directed by Jon Chu, and starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Other film credits include Disenchanted, the Disney+ live-action film directed by Adam Shankman, and Daniel Levine’s independent film adaptation of Snapshots, which received a 2021 Grammy Nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

Michael has appeared in concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the David Geffen Concert Hall, Symphony Space, Birdland, 54 Below and with symphony orchestras across the United States. He regularly appears in concert with his long-time life partner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin). One of their concerts also starring Scott Coulter and Debbie Gravitte was filmed for PBS’s Great American Songbook Concert Series at NJPAC and was nominated for a 2017 Regional Emmy Award.

His theatrical credits include roles at regional theaters such as The Paper Mill Playhouse, Williamstown Theater Festival, The Alliance Theater, Westport Playhouse, Primary Stages, Capital Repertory Theater, and Project Shaw with directors including Kenny Leon, Rachel Chavkin, Michael Arden, Darko Tresnjak, Gordon Greenberg, and Sammi Cannold.

In addition to his career as a performer, Michael is also a third year master's candidate at Antioch University in New England pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Originally from San Diego, he holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from U.C.L.A. and continues to study acting at the Jen Waldman Studios and The Actor’s Gym in New York.
